Before I go into detail about how to build a great band here's a simple overview of the structure of a traditional band. I like to think of the structure like a house because it's super easy to apply analogies.
I didn't start off playing drums. My first instrument was piano when I was about 3 or 4 years old. My mother played and one of the first songs she taught me was "Over the Rainbow" from the Wizard of Oz.
After a recent show I was asked if EIGHT53 uses backing tracks and what equipment we were using. Bands or solo musicians may use backing tracks to add extra instrumental or vocal tracks to a live performance
I can be the most optimistic person I know when it comes to music. I’m almost always looking to the future, eagerly awaiting the next show or potential opportunity.
March 19th has a tradition in eight53 history. A tradition we are breaking this year, but it's not such a bad thing. Traditionally, religiously, without a doubt... when we have a gig March 19th, everything seems to go to shit.
