Who is eight53?

eight53 is a piano grunge duo from Portland Oregon.

So what exactly is Piano Grunge?

Well, according to wikipedia...

Grunge is a subgenre of alternative rock ... inspired by hardcore punk, heavy metal, and alternative rock, grunge is generally characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics, "growling" vocals and apathetic or angst-filled lyrics. The grunge aesthetic is stripped-down compared with other forms of rock music

Yeah, but, what do you sound like?

Imagine the Foo Fighters got rid of the guitars and replaced them with Steve Winwood and Ben Folds.

The Band

This is eight53

In 2013 EIGHT53 found themselves at a cross road after guitarist Roman Bilko and bassist Steve Giedosh left the band to pursue other projects and finish grad school. Initially, the concept of playing alternative rock without guitar was daunting, but they decided to try moving forward as a two piece. Playing a set at the Hawthorne Theatre solidified their decision to move on with just piano and drums.

Why didn't I put any value, on this man's soul?"
